EyeSpyFX software is now compatible with Windows Vista

EyeSpyFX is pleased to announce that Jamba will distribute PhoneStreamFX.

PhoneStreamFX is a Java application for mobile phones that enables streaming webcams to be viewed from around the world. Using an associated peice of software “EyeSpyFX WebCam” you can set up your own webcam at home and view it via Phone StreamFX. In addition if you have a Logitech Sphere or a Creative Live Motion webcamera you can control the pan tilt  function of the cam using your phone. Phone StreamFX is an example of PC and webcam and phone convergence.

EyeSpyFX have launched the ultimate Java application for your mobile phone for Twittering.

The new app can read friends and public timelines and allows you to update your timeline. It is easy to use and designed to suit most Java phones.

Widsets is a Nokia project. “WidSets represents a first step in mobilizing the Internet vision of Nokia” Widsets was launched in October 2006. Widsets is a system where mini applications called widgets can be made and managed. The idea Widsets is that if a fully functional Java environment is provided high end Web 2.0 style apps can be made to work.

This is a powerful idea. And it looks great.

BUT

It is a bit closed, a little like a walled garden. Every widget is ultimately under the control of widsets. If they dont like you maybe they will turn you off. Some web 2.0 developers may not like that possibility.

On the up side Widsets is good for phone users. One of the features that widsets uses is a data traffic manager, so you can see how much data traffic bills you are running up. Also if you want your phone to have lots of high end java apps it is nice that within the widsets concept they are all orgainised in one place. However, if the main differentiator between widsets and just downloading apps individually is the data traffic manager feature…it may not be quete enough. I wonder if that dilemma is one of those situations where a well designed and orgainised environment is competing with a free, but slightly crazy environment.

Mobot offers a system (not released yet) that allows you to take a snap and send it to mobot. Mobot then sends you back relevant information. “Relevant” is maybe a bit strong, information which advertisers pay to have sent back, is perhaps closer to the truth. Pretty cool nonetheless.

Sun have released a new version of Java called JavaFX (hey, I wonder where they got that FX idea!). The mobile version is the first FX edition. The mobile OS stakes seem to be heating up nicely. The main deal here is its open. JavaFX will sit on a version of Linux for mobile. That contrasts with other mobile systems such as Symbian, OSX (mac) and Windows Mobile. This is all good news for EyeSpyFX and our Java based mobile phone webcam streaming product Phone-StreamFX

Is this important? YES! What is at stake here is the market for Mobile OS. Microsoft dominate PC OS’s. Mobile is a new opportunity, new land!

Admob are offering a service that allows you to embed adverts into WAP pages…a bit like the google adsense scheme except for Mobile. If it does that it is certainly a major landmark in the development of the mobile web.

We are going to try it out and will report back.

Try out the new web browser from China. They already have 80 million downloads! It features a rather cool user interface that allows you to use a gesture with your mouse to go back or jump from tab to tab. Great fun.

Rumour has it that Google has invested $1m with Maxthon. My question is…what happens next?
